The above lines made me realize that in the rap game, there are players and there are game changers. Unfortunately in HIPLIFE, HIPHOP, RAGGAE and life in general, the former far outweigh the latter. While players may enjoy the rewards bestowed them, game changers enjoy a legendary status. These past months I’ve endured Ghanaian music connoisseurs act like they had just seen God simply because no other Ghanaian artiste supposedly dare comes out of the blues and calls himself THE GAME CHANGER and the crowd automatically accepts him as how Da-Costa GhRapper did it. But when you’re as dope as weed or cocaine or Da-Costa, you never run out of customers. Blaqbone Records recording artiste Da-Costa GhRapper’s “THE GAME CHANGER” EP has come upon us like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Prior to the EP’s release, there were singles released by Da-Costa GhRapper including Go Gaga which was an instant hit after few weeks of releasing it. During an exclusive interview with Da-Costa GhRapper, he recalls moments when people did not believe he could cause any change in the Ghana music industry and now they are the same people praising him and calling him names like “THE GAME CHANGER “. At that singular moment, it dawned on him how far he’d come from humble beginnings as a struggling upstart that had to endure dehumanization from the industry’s gatekeepers. Not only did the situation inspire the entire project and its name, it is conveyed in the song titled NATIONAL ANTHEM. The running theme of the EP is success and the dynamics to it.
